Nest.bg story

In 2010, I served as a FAI/CIVL jury for the European Hangliding Championship in Ager, Spain where I visited the local observatory. When the roof disappeared, I was delighted to see the night sky and starts surrounded by the circular wall of the observatory building. I felt like in a giant telescope. I was part of the universe (no drugs were used :-). This experience inspired me to create a circular building, where to watch the night sky.
In 2003, I lost my job at Bulgarian Air Forces and with the compensation money I bought a plot of land near the cable lift in Sopot. A long time flying friend - Venelin Staykov, responded to the idea to build a place for paragliding pilots and this is how this crazy project started.
It took 2 years to make the land residential, then 1 year for the architectural project and in April 2013 Sopot municipality approved the project under the name "NEST"...
7 years of hard work followed for 7 rooms: 3 studios and 4 rooms facing different directions: E, N, W; NW, NE, SE, SW.
A lot of money were spend, a hard price was paid - 2 relationships, over stressing my colleagues from SkyNomad, neglecting students, work, reading, writing, studying, flying, relatives and friends...
Hopefully, it will turn into a real nest - a cosy place for rest, knowledge and joy...
